Waveguard Connect brain signal recording cap

An EEG (electroencephalography) cap is a device used to measure and record the electrical activity of the brain. These caps contain electrodes that are placed on the surface of the head and record the electrical signals produced by the neurons. The data recorded from these hats helps therapists, psychiatrists, neuroscience researchers and other experts analyze and interpret the brain function and mental state of the individual.
Waveguard Connect hats are of high quality, durable and easy to use and are in accordance with the standards of the original Waveguard model. Various smart technologies make this product suitable for hospitals, clinics, offices and all clinical centers due to shortening the registration time and convenience for the patient.
The main difference, or rather the exception, of the Waveguard Connect model hats is the use of soft silicone plates in the electrodes instead of the hard and uncomfortable plastic plates that are usually used in the hats of other manufacturers of this type of electrodes. Waveguard helmets feature hidden wiring and high-density connectors that make wearing and maintaining the helmets quick, safe and easy.
The Connect model Waveguard cap is perfect for everyday clinical signal recording where good signal quality is very important for evaluation. Also, as mentioned, this model is very useful for recording signals during sleep due to the difference in the material of the fabric and the silicone electrodes.
Can be connected to Segal Sense, Neurosoft®, NicoletOne®, Nihon Kohden®, Mitsar®, Micromed®, etc. devices and available in two 21-channel layouts (10-20 layout)

EEG-ERP wave shields were primarily developed for use in EEG-ERP studies and are therefore an excellent tool for recording and examining responses to specific cognitive, motor, or sensory stimuli over a period of time.
EEG-TMS All wave shield EEG caps are compatible with Transcranial Magnetic EEG can be recorded during the TMS experiment, with very high quality and short artifact recovery time.
EEG-fMRI surge protectors are available in an MRI compatible version. For the optimal quality of the EEG signal, more care has been taken to arrange the wires inside the cap. Safety resistors are included in each electrode. If desired, shielded wires can be used to optimally suppress interference in the MRI scanner.
EEG-MEG MEG/EEG recording and storage can be performed using non-magnetic shielded EEG connectors. Very thin wires are optimal for use in MEG helmets. Optionally, an opening in the cap is provided for direct access to the head positioning coils. Various cap connectors ensure compatibility with all major MEG manufacturers.z

Features of ant hats

Wavegaurd caps are the result of well-defined manufacturing processes that meet the highest needs in brain research and diagnostics. They use the best materials, the latest technology for optimal ease of use and the best signal quality. Due to the special design of the electrodes, the connection cut of the caps and the superior quality of the porous Ag/AgCl electrode material, the cap use time is significantly faster and easier compared to single leads in conventional caps.
– They can be exposed to air due to the inner cover without wires
– Noise elimination with active shielding wires, optimal shape of electrodes, minimizes induction-type artifacts (e.g. fMRI, TMS)
– Rubber rings inside the cap for stable placement of the electrode
– Durable material for long life of the caps
– Waveguard helmets are equipped with special connectors that make connecting and disconnecting EEG headboxes quick and easy.
– The hat is easily closed by the chin strap
– Long life of surge protection caps: These caps are made of strong electrode sensors, durable fabric designed to enable high quality recording for more than 500 recording sessions.

Frequently asked questions

How many times can this hat be used?
The number of times a waveguard helmet can be used depends on many factors
Correct use and thorough cleaning are most important. Collecting the cable correctly after each use is also one of the factors to increase the life. Considering these things and according to the fabric of the hat, the maximum lifespan of the hat is with this company

What is the main difference between Tin and Ag/AgCl electrodes?
When choosing a sensor material for EEG electrodes, the most important aspect is its ability to resist corrosion and maintain its conductivity. Tin and Ag/AgCl electrodes are widely used in clinical and research fields with long life and good signal quality.

What is the advantage of an EEG cap with pre-positioned electrodes compared to caps that require electrodes (loose electrodes)?
The preset electrodes are placed according to the international standard 10/20. This is the most common assembly setup and covers the electrode positions typically required by professionals. For this reason, the preparation time of each reference is significantly reduced. The amount of noise is reduced and the lifespan of the hat is increased. All these things will save the costs of the clinic.

Can the electrodes be removed from the waveguard cap?
The preset electrodes in the waveguard cap are covered by two layers of fabric to provide the best protection for the electrode body and cables. If the electrodes are removed manually, the warranty will be lost. If you do not need each electrode, please disable this desired channel in your signal recording software.

Does the waveguard hat have a certification or standard?
The waveguard cap is one of the few EEG signal recording caps that is made according to international and specialized standards for medical devices. The hats of this company are approved by the European Union and have a CE mark, and in the United States they also have FDA 510(k) approval. It should be noted that they are registered as a medical device in Canada with the C-MDR standard.

How long does it take to prepare references using a waveguard hat?
The preparation time depends on the number of EEG signal recording channels. Typically, each electrode takes about 10 seconds to gel. The whole process of preparing the references, i.e. fixing the 21-channel cap and gelling it, takes a maximum of 5 minutes.

How can I check that my helmet electrodes are working properly?
Before starting the signal recording, in the recording software, you can check whether all the electrodes are working properly or not. Two parameters, impedance and signal-to-noise ratio, can be easily checked in the recording software.

How long can I record a subject’s brain signals without recharging the gel?
If standard gels are used, if the cap is not moved, it is possible to record the signal for 6 hours. To find out about the price of standard gels, click here [Hossam1].

Is it possible to re-inject the gel of the electrodes during the test?
Yes, it is always possible to re-inject the gel, however, to avoid any noise related to the injection needle or electrode movement, etc., it is necessary to stop the recording first and then start again after re-injection.

How long does the waveguard hat take to dry after washing?
It is recommended to avoid squeezing and twisting the hat to speed up drying. Hang the hat on a hook or place it between two dry and clean towels and let it dry in a non-humid environment. If they are placed in front of a constant flow of air (fan, etc.), it is expected to dry completely in about 20 minutes.

Dry the surge protector cap in a non-humid room with a desk fan with a fence that you can hang the cap on. With constant airflow, drying time can be reduced to 20 minutes. Do not try to squeeze or squeeze the cap. We recommend lightly dampening the cap fabric using a towel, or holding the cap between two towels before drying further, for example, using a table fan.
