Reducing or increasing too much of an index in neurofeedback can cause new problems in clients. How can you make sure that the desired index has decreased or increased by a sufficient amount (neither too much nor too little)? Z-Score neurofeedback software suite is an answer to this need.
The Z-Score neurofeedback software of Canadian company Thought Technology includes short assessment protocols for baseline recording in both eyes-open and eyes-closed conditions. Treatment windows for exercise based on z-score, based on an index of z-score, standard frequency bands with z-score along with reports that give progress and values of these indices are available in this software suite.
This suite enables the use of assessment and practice based on z score in two ways. Using the z score value itself or using an index that is a set of z score values.
The z-score index can measure how many z-scores are in a specified range at a given moment. This interval can be defined by the user and can be changed during the treatment session. Which z-scores of brain waves should be included in this index can also be defined and can be easily done during the meeting. The list of selectable values is as follows:
z score index
Absolute power index and relative power
Power ratio index
Two point connection index (including phase, asymmetry, coherence)
This suite is compatible with all neurofeedback and biofeedback devices of the ProComp family, and to use it, you need the Z-Score Add-On plugin and two-to-one electrodes conversion kit.
